CACFP Trainings

Food Program care providers are required to complete two hours of training each year, due on October 1st of each year.  

Trainings on meal patterns and aspects of nutrition and wellness are offered by Positive Bright Start, free of charge to Food Program participants.    Be sure to read your Nutrition Notes newsletter enclosed with your program check each month for the latest news from the Food Program. With questions and to register for a training, please call the office 785-842-9679.

Whole Grains

Join Lisa at the Clinton Parkway HyVee on Thursday June 20th 2024 from 6:30-8:30 for a fun new whole grains class!  There will be a scavenger hunt!  Contact Lisa at the office to sign up.  785 842-9679.

CAN'T MAKE IT TO AN IN-PERSON CLASS?  

KSDE and USDA have some training options for you.  

                                               

KSDE Training Portal:

1. Go to the KSDE Homepage.

2. Click on “Create new account”, and create your own username and password.

3. Fill-in the “More Details” section email address & first and last name.

4. Click on the arrow next to “Contact information” and complete this as well.

5. Answer the security question at the bottom of the page.

6. When complete click on “Create my new Account”.

7. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided.

8. Confirm your new account by clicking the link in the email.

9. You will be directed to the Course Categories page.

10. To view classes, click on “Child Nutrition & Wellness” under Course Categories.

Both live and recorded 30 minute trainings are available.
